Bent control arm...

I have a few questions:

1) Is a control arm sometimes referred to as something different? Possibly a rotating arm.

2) Will a slightly damaged left rear arm cause tire damage?

3) When repairing a rear control arm is it necessary to get an alignment?

Thanks in advance.
