Question XFI Ground cam in 1.3 litre engine

Has anyone had a 1.3 4 cylinder camshaft ground like a xfi cam. From what I have read the computer will adjust to the different grind in a non 1.0 XFI engine, so why can't a 1.3 4 cylinder camshaft be ground the same way. I'm trying to think of easy ways to increase the mpg in my 4 banger and this idea seemed like it would work. Any ideas.

Re: XFI Ground cam in 1.3 litre engine

A cam can be reground or modified for most vehicles, but finding a shop who would know what's best for the 1.3L would be a challenge. Since the 3 cylinder already has a cam to go by (XFi) it's easier or more available for the 1.0L engine.

So I'm thinking about just coping t he 1.0 the "lobes" onto a 1.3. It should work.
