looking for Subaru Legacy RS color

Hi,

I'm about to start a Hasegawa Subaru Legacy RS as run by prodrive during the 1993 New Zealand rally. These cars were run in the familiar "Blue" with yellow "555" markings. The build-manual states you have to mix 3 color's to get the right shade of blue for this car But I'd rather use an "out-of-the-can" color. I've looked at the Zero-paints and found that the Subaru colors start in 1994 (555 Rally Montecarlo Blue ('94-'96)). Perhaps this is the same color as used on the 1993 Legacy, but I'm not sure.

So does anybody know if the zero-paint I mentioned is a close match to the 1993 blue?? And if not, what color would be a close match?

The blue on the Legacy was, I believe, a lighter shade than that used on the Impreza the following year - I will check my reference materials and confirm for you.

The Zero blue matches the Impreza.

I would definitely say there is a difference in color looking at these photos:

The Legacy RS looks closer to Rothmans blue in color.

Great shot of the Legacy - that will definitely come in handy when I eventually get around to finishing mine.
I also like the shot of Daniel's Ignis where the decal on the door is all puckered up - I don't feel so bad now when one of my decals reacts badly to the decalsol
