MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

I have previously built two of three 312PB's that were entered in 1973 Le Mans #16 and #17. Both were built from Profil24 curbside. It is time to complete the collection, this time from the almost perfect MFH kit. I've already completed the engine and transmission. Only additions to the kit is the rear brake hoses and details, everything else is OOB. I also moved the brakes from inboard to outboard, because it is the way they were in LM entered cars.

Fantastic Niko. Also the kit is one of the very Hiro's best.
I'll like to see you to use a sandblast device or something similar: you'll feel fun on all those metal you're used to play with.

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

Main chassis is done. After taking the pics i had to remove those crappy brakelines, wheels did not fit. Alu parts are painted with testors aluminium metalizer, and everything is OOB. MFH painting instructions are quite bad, there is only one colour per part, no detail painting at all, so keep your references on hand when building one of these.

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

Hi Niko,
i'm watching with great interest!
It seems that the MFH-Ferrari-kits have everything both a freak and a experienced (car-kit-) modeler needs.
You are for sure one of those who are able to deal with these demanding fine and delicate parts / details. I took a look at your outstanding work so far in the gallery.
Congratulations!!!
If i contact my pc-screen with my nose, i think i can smell the vapors of oil and high-grade-burnt gasoline......back in former times...
VERY NICE indeed, accurate work, high skills and that very special "beeing-in-touch-with". Keep it up!!!
Yours
Jochen

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

this looks beautiful, I take it all that detail comes with the kit and your not scratch building. I know MFH are ultra expensive but boy if only I had a spare few pounds I'd be picking it up like a shot!

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

Thanks guys!

-> Jochen, SeanyG. Yes, it is basically built straight out of box. Only additions are brake lines and relocating the rearbrakes. And detailing on the kit doesn't leave too much room for improvement (maybe ssomething to the interior).

-> Alex. Yes this is the best MFH kit that i've built so far. Only minor inaccuracies (that i know of), and white metal castings are getting better kit by kit.

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

The chassis is complete. I will leave the left side wheel out to show some of the detail.

One pic of the wheel + tire. This is how they are straight out of box.

Re: MFH Ferrari 312PB LM '73

Drivers seat and dashboard are almost finished. Still need to add some switches. I added some wiring to the dashboard, warning light above the gauges and the support below steering wheel. It probably is not totally correct, but a lot better than gauges that are only attached to the steering wheel.
