2006 escape power steering fluid?
My mother has a 2006 Ford Escape, front wheel drive, 4 cylinder. She doesn't drive much 5K miles per year or less.
Sunday I noticed the power steering fluid was low, below the "low mark" I went to Auto zone and picked up a bottle of Prestone Power Steering fluid but I didn't put in new fluid because I'm afraid is not the correct kind. tions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} -->* The Ownes Giude list part number # XT-2-QDX (Motorcraft MERCON ATF). Should I use ford power steering fluid or can I use the one from autozone? Also, is the loos of fluid normal? ![]() Thanks! Og |

Re: 2006 escape power steering fluid?
If you look at transmission fluid the parts stores sell Mercon ATF this is automatic transmission fluid. Make sure this is what the manual specifies.
