94 Escort GT Engine Swap

hello, i own a 94 escort gt it runs good and is not a bad first car but the engine is getting a little tired, and i found a jdm mazda bpt gtr engine for sale near my place with out the ecu or wireing harness which im sure i could find if i looked hard enough, but i am wondering if this engine is a straight forward swap or am i going to be looking at alot more work then i think?

How many miles are on it. Have you tried Seafoam yet?

Re: 94 Escort GT Engine Swap

The type of detailed info that you are looking for would be on FEOA.net, but have you checked engine compression?
