race car question

Who builds race cars, but doesn't put all the sponser declas on? I am about to finish my Ferrari 550, but can't bring myself to put the declas on. That is also the reason I want the round white circles number go on. I have a Lola t70 and the ones in the kit have a number in it already. I don't want that, just a "street" car. So am I nuts? Ok don't answer that, but am I nuts to not put stickers on a race car?

If you want it that way, why not ?

If you want a bare car, build it bare.
You can build historically accurate cars, or you can build ones that you like.

Personally I have thought about making a model of an F1 car, but instead of painting it, decaling it in carbon fiber all over (so it looks unpained) and another idea, was to make a car that is "naked" so it does have the body on.

Hell, if you want to build a Ferrari Enzo, but put in the F1 engine, and a F1 rear wing, by all means do it!

I was thinking about doing this, but for 1/43, but I don't want to spend 100 dollars on the model only to be bare in CF.

I presonally dislike building race car models and turn them into street cars, but I'm a racing fantantic so I like to build the cars are dipicted correctly.

My nex purchase will be a 1:43 Ferrari F2001. I will do it up in the Monza scheme, it was when they had a red car, and black nose, with only 1 number in white outline only on the black nose. That was a great looking car for a great remembrence. Thanks Schumi!

I am the exact opposite.I prefer to build cars with many sponsor markings as I feel they look so plain and bare without them.One of the reasons I seem to shy away from building models of road cars and stick to rally and F1.

Here is this car it is about done except for a touchup or 2 if I want to mess with it. It is my first car in a few years so please be gental but it is done.

I have just brought the Michelin Ford Escort Cosworth and the decals were cracked. So I am building the car in a plain white scheme and putting the decals on the wheels only and making it look something like a test car, or one sold from the factory to a privateer ready for collection and the privateers personal livery. It will look very nice just as a plain car. Sometimes a change is nice, I always put all the decals on my models and this will be a nice break from the busy colourings...

Do whatever you feel is better. It's you who will be displaying it and looking at it ^^
