No brake lights or cruse control & can't get out of park after the engine has starte

OK, Like the title says; I have no brake lights, no cruse control and I can't get it out of park after I start the engine.

I had a hitch installed about 3 months ago and this started just a week ago. The first thing I noticed was that I couldn't get it out of park after I started the engine. I have been just putting it in neutral and then starting the truck. I noticed the other day that my cruse control wasn't working, and then last night I was told that my brake lights were out.

I looked here and thought it must be the brake light switch. Replaced that and still have the same problems. I messed with the cable that goes from the shifter to the ignition with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Dave

I had the same issue long time ago when I installed my hitch. The cables for the hitch were fried and was shorting my istruments.

Well, it turns out it was a blown fuse.
