Buying First Car

My friend/brother is almost 18 and when he gets his money (from a lawsuit he won back a couple years) he is wanting to buy his first car. He's getting $100,000. Now obviously he doesn't want to blow it all on a car. So I've been trying to help him find a car.

The first thing is that he plays drums and is getting a custom drum kit. And the bass drum will be pretty big. So i've been telling him to get an SUV but he wants good mileage. But if anyone can help find a large sedan or something like that, that has good gas mileage. New or used.

Please give ideas.
