2000 headlight/flasher problems

Started up the old Ranger today and find no headlights or flashers work. Headlights work on high beam. Parking lights and wipers work. Replaced multifunction switch thinking that is it, but not.

Obvious items like fuses have been checked, but can't find the control relay. It doesn't look like it's ever been in the box, so Ford has hidden it somewhere else.

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks
Bill

Re: 2000 headlight/flasher problems

I looked at a 1995 ranger wiring diagram I don't have a 2000. From the multi function switch it has 3or 4 fuses I/P fuse panel behind left side of the of I/P.
Fuse 11,23,8,4 then goes to daytime running light module left side of radiator support. you may also have a fog lamp relay fuse/relay box left side of engine compartment.

thanks. Will look in those type places tomorrow. the owners manual shows a 30amp relay/fuse in the electrical distribution box, but it's not there.

well, it turns out I am the victim of vandals! These are the ones with four paws, whiskers and sharp teeth. Right up under the power distribution box on the firewall 13 wires have been chewed through. This ugly....

You can fix this cheaper than some parts. Keep your windows rolled up with squirrel feed outside the garage. Don't haul wild bird seed in the truck.

keeping the windows rolled up won't help under the hood.

And no bird seed here. Just a couple of cats that aren't doing their jobs..
