91 escort only runs when i pump the gas

91 ford esort pony. 1.9 fuel inj. the car stalled and would not start again. it had bad valves so i replaced them. when i got the engine put back together it will only run when i pump the gas pedal. i put a new throttle positioner on, didn't help. ???

My '94 Escort started dying when I came to a stop. Turned out it was the vacuum line feeding the PCV valve, up on the top of the engine. I popped the hood and could hear a faint hissing.

The aboev person was most likely referring to the vacuum elbow that goes bad on all of these cars.
