Cooling Fans
04 ION I need to check the cooling fan operation. It was getting hot in traffic. When should they turn on ? Can I unplug the sensor and jumper accross to check that they work ? is there a sensor in the rad?

Turns on when
engine coolant temperature exceeds approximately 106°C (223°F). When the engine coolant temperature exceeds 100°C (212°F) at key off, the fan will run for up to 108 seconds. Check to make sure that the thermostat isn't sticking, and that your rad isn't plugged
