costs of running a PT Cruiser

I am thinking of buying from a dealer, a Touring auto 2.4, 2002 with 18000 miles on the clock for around $12750 which seems a good price to me.
I know some say it needs more power, but the power to weight ratio is good bearing in mind its size. It will do for me.

Can someone tell me service costs, intervals and spare part prices. I would be interested in any driving impressions you may wish to share.

Thanks in anticipation.

Ian

:flash: Bruno4, I've had my PT since August, No service expences at all save for oil change and fuel. Now I have spent a heap for mods, but thats all part of the fun!!!! My Cruiser is the most fun to drivr car I've ever owned , Well maybe a tie with my TR-4!!!! Buy the PT you will NOT be disapointed!!!! Just remember its a cruiser not an accelerator!!!!

Thumbs up Running a PT Cruiser

Hi Turtle,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. I have seen some good ones for sale, but none with ABS which to me is crucial. I understand the car is no ball of fire, but coming from the UK, 150 bhp is to me a lot of power where the average is about 100 bhp I guess. Probably something to do with the high gas mileage we get. Pretty important as gas today there is $5.75 per imperial gallon!!

Take care

Ian

5.75 A gallon?? ouch, Gee I guess I shouldn't complain when I pay $1.59 us gallon. I get about 23-25 Miles per gal. this is mostly city driving, Go for it and enjoy one of the most unique cars on the road. and with various mods you can easyly make it more uniquely yours!!! Have fun my friend.

Thumbs up Re: costs of running a PT Cruiser

The cost can be , over the limit for some. Of course the PT puts out a good vehicle. It's like the lottery my friend. My answer to you would be "NO" Good luck. Wayne
