97 Blazer Transmission problems
Ok, Hopefully my last problem.
Just replaced engine, up and running fine now but the transmission will not go into gear. Did not remove transmission. Linkage is moving Fluid level is full Vacuum line is hooked up Thanks for the help so far.

Remove the inspection plate on the bottom, and see if the Torque converter is spinning.
Did you bolt the converter to the flex plate/fly wheel?

Did some checking here is what I found.
Torque convertor IS bolted on and turning. All vacuum lines are hooked up (traced to make sure). All wiring is attached (was never disconnected but I did trace to make sure) Linkage is hooked up and moving (disconnected and tried to manually shift into gear and nothing) TPS seems to be working (removed and started engine moved sensor and motor started to choke) Pulled fuse looked fine replaced anyway. When in park rocking truck transmission is locked and will not roll you put it in any gear and it will roll. Torque converter was never removed from transmission when we pulled the motor. It seems like the transmission is not engaging when put into gear, it really does nothing.

Fluid level?
Did the converter have free travel front to rear when engine bolted up to transmission. Does reverse do anything? Does the transmission have any line pressure?

The torque converter may not be fully engaged in the pump. Remove the torque converter bolts and make sure the torque converter can be pushed towards the transmission about 1/2" or so. The torque converter should not be tight to the flexplate, it should move freely back and forth.

As said in upper post the converter should have slack in it when unbolted and before bolting up. If the converter was tight against the flex plate when bolted up you may have broke the ears off of the front pump gear. If transmission has no fluid pressure you need to check front pump and pump gears.
