91 grand prix gtp
Hi guys ive got a few question about my grand prix its almost ready for the road ive just got a few questions.
1. On the drivers side rear wheel when the parking brake cable is pulled and the lever on the caliper pulls over the breaks do not compress. Can i rebuild the caliper or do i need a new one? 2. When i swapper the motor there was a relay sitting on top of the passenger side over top of the strut. it was wired into the fuse box but it was just jammed under one of the fuses and then into the wiring harness... my brother in his infinite wisdom cut it out saying it was added and didnt matter.... now i have no head lights.. there is not power at the lights or at the headlight switch on the dash. im wondering if the relay was infact supposed to be there or not? The rear driving lights are also no longer working but i have break lights and signal lights all around??? if anyone has a diagram of the exterior light wiring for a 91 grand prix gtp with the 3.4l motor it would be greatley appreciated. Also if anyone has a picture of the fuse diagram for the fuse panel under the hood that would also be appreciated as my fuse diagram is to faded to read. thanks for the help guys |

Re: 91 grand prix gtp
On the caliper issue, the parking brake mechanisms on those calipers are a known issue, so I would just replace the caliper. By the time you tear it down, attempt a rebuild and then cuss and swear because it's still f#@ked up, it's worth the money to just buy a new/rebuilt caliper and be done with it.
On the wiring issue, I'll try to remember to look in my manuals at home tonight and see if I can get you those wiring diagrams.

Re: 91 grand prix gtp
thanks a lot for the suggestion and that was what i was thinkin today on the caliper it will just save the hassle to buy a rebuilt one. and i have some wiring diagrams but there for a grand am and they seem slightly diffrent. im also wondering how the head lights and tail lights are connected where they would both cut out.
