Help PLS!

I have a 98 kia sportage and have a remote door unlock that failed.dosen`t lock or unlock with the remote only with the key.i tryed finding the RKE module but i can`t find it.it`s suposed to be to the right of the gas pedal under the radio in front of the gear shifter but there is absolutley nothing.The remote is factory came along with the car no modifications were made.I diden`t find the ET&ACM either.The car dosen`t have a alarm and the horn never sound when i locked the car (when the remote was working) only the turn signals flash once when i locked it.Since then the engine is not starting but i think is the fuel pump.Where could the RKE be?
