wiring problems

I have a 1994 trooper LS 3.2 DOHC, any way the other morning it would not start, gave it a shot of starting fluid and took right off. runs fine once I get it going, any way, on the side of my fuel canister are three wiring harnesess, top one black the second green and the bottom one blue. any way was changing air filters and hit the blue plug and the rig died on the spot, moved the connector around and it fired right off, moved it again same thing died. any one have a clue as to why the connectors are different colors as they all run into the big wire harness.. any help would be appreciated.
