pull a spark plug out. plug it back into the wire and touch it next to something metal (the tip of the spark plug) and have a friend/mom crank the car over and see if it sparks.

then get back to us for fuel testing

Yeah, testing for spark and fuel is actually quite easy. And even though sometimes it appears you are getting spark, it may be to weak to cause any combustion. If it turns out you are getting fuel and have been trying to crank this car over and over and over agian, I would reccomend changing the oil since some of the fuel will have gotten in the oil causing it to lose it's oil film which could cause you to spin a bearing.

The pump only runs when the car is cranking and once its started.

Re: 1991 stealth no spark/no fuel

The fuel pump in our cars are very quiet. I would reccomend taking off the "w" connector inbetween the fuel rails on the right side, having someone hold a towel where the gas could possibly shoot out, and then have someone get in the car and crank it for a brief moment to see if gas shoots out.

Re: 1991 stealth no spark/no fuel

ok, I am getting the fuel pump to activate and the car turns over but I am not getting any spark at all. tested the wires and they seem fine. going to test coil tomorrow. Also alot of the wiring has been "rigged" with a lot exposed...one of them to the coil and pretty close to metal, thinking possibly a short.

are there any common aftermarket radio problems with these? this is the second one I have owned that as you turn the radio up it will cut out.
Thanks.
