Manual Transmission

Hi Guys!

1988 Cherokee 4.0 Manual Tranny - Its the frenchy BA 10/5 transmission.

My question is this: everyone on these, and other forums mention cleaning/replacing the transmission filter and magnet when doing fluid changes. My maintenance manual only mentions a fluid change every 30K, and NOWHERE does it mention ANYTHING about a filter or magnet. Is it really nescessary to do the filter+magnet, and how is it done?

Thanks!
Bryan

Hmmm.....Im thinking none of that applies to the manual tranny. Ive never seen a manual with a filter or magnet, or for that matter, a 30.000 mile fluid change.
