I am tired of hearing about how good our crappy bands are, Silverchair suck now, Powderfinger are not the same, who the shit is Missy Higgins, what is up with Jet, and who the devil does John Buttler think he is?


The best music is the un-commercial bands, and we have quite a few awesome bands, here I shall list some of them, and update the list as I discover more bands.

Formed from the ashes of Bondi group Jerk, I saw these guys play in July/August in Sydney on a random whim one friday night with two mates, as we had nothing to do, and I could not drink due to my arm still repairing tissue damage. I bought their EP at the gig after getting familiar with their three songs on their my space page before the gig, and the ep is FRICKIN AWESOME. It is so awesome, I can't wait till their full record comes out.

I am also happy to announce they are touring again and I get to see them again at TWO of my fav places in Sydney in November!! OOOHH I CANT WAIT!!!!

I saw these guys last November on a random trip into the city one friday night to the Metal Club we have on our main street (best in syd) and they were playing and I was so drunk I bought their E.P, a week later my friend who was with me told me it was good, so I gave it a listen, it wasn't much at first, but I listened to it a few times and came to the conclusion it is FUCKIN AWESOME. Lady Like is the best track on the album, and I saw these guys 3 days before I got stabbed, I was wasted, but sung my heart out to all the songs I knew from the E.P. They rock.

I have known about these guys from New Castle for quite some time, but only recently gave em a listen to (recently I mean like, in the last 3-4 weeks) and I was so impressed with their songs on their myspace page I got off my lazy ass down to the music store to pick it up, and it is FUDGING AWESOME. It is so mellow and rocking and awesome, the singer's voice is so unique I can not even describe how talented the guy is. I am lookin forward to a live show from these guys and to get their older material.

John Butler Trio is awesome!! Why don't you like him? Well... i mean, he's not anywhere near heavy. He's jamband music. stuff you'd see at festivals like Bonnaroo Gathering of the Vibes, Grassroots, etc., or your Aussie Big Day Out.

How about The Living End? Pretty good n heavy Punk Rock if you ask me. Don't know too much about them, though, other than they're Australian and talented.

Also, Foster's is a shitty beer. Is there better Australian beer? I would hope an island full of convicts could atleast brew some good draught.

Personally, I liked Redback and QVB when I visited the Perth area in 1993 (courtesy of the US Navy).
