Any tips/tricks/suggestions on cleaning the "spokes" on '97-'02 16"x7" alloy wheels?

Today, for the first time in several months, I FINALLY had the time to do some much-needed detailing on my beloved 1999 Grand Marquis. After spending over half an hr on the cleaning of just TWO wheels (WAY too long[!]), I remembered that the wheel's "spoked" design, & my lack of proper tools were to-blame, for this painfully slow cleaning process.

I've tried numerous "wheel-brushes" & cloths-- even various Dremel tool attachments, but the only thing that I've found that's even REMOTELY helpful is a thin terry towel, wrapped around a wooden paint stirrer(!) I can't get anything else to fit in the "split" ("V") of the big spokes.

Any Wisdom/suggestions?
