1990 Continental Check Dcl

I Have A 1990 Contiental That I Get A Beep To -check Dcl -on The Dash
The Car Will Run A Few Miles Then Quits-it Will Restart Easy
Then Shuts Down After A Few More Miles I Wonder If The Check Dcl
Is Causing The Car To Stall Or Something Else--thanks For Any Feedback.
