Exclamation Why no GVL?

Why is this the GV/GVX/GVS forum?
You know that there was also a GVL and a GV+
The GVS and the GVL were just trim options for the GV, and the GV+ was a GV with revised brakes and a 1300cc fuel injeced engine. (67hp, not bad for an econo-box)
So this should logically be the GV/GV+/GVS/GVL/GVX/

Also anybody know what GV stands for? - Great Value!

By what standard?
They're cheap, reliable, economical, handle well, are manueverable and are just plain fun to drive. Maybe the build quality is lacking somewhat - but it's not any worse than what you'd find on your typical H2.

Dude, I think you better get your facts straight, I mean, it is NOT reliable, it is NOT fun to drive, it is economical, but I mean, what can you expect out of an obsolete 1.3 liter engine! hell, if it were a gas gussler it would be worthy of serving as growing grounds for weed and plants and stuff.

Come on, really, if you are supporting SUVs, how on earth can you call a Yugo a reliable car?!!? or well-handling cars?!?!?!?

There's a reason why they never got further than the junkyard...

Re: Why no GVL?

Yugos scored better than Volvos, Fords, and many other vehicles in used car reliability ratings. They're perfectly reliable. How would you know if it's not fun to drive? Have you ever owned a Yugo?

Re: Why no GVL?

I've driven Yugos, I've seen their facts, and they break up often, in fact, every Yugo that I've seen, even when they came out of the dealership, got something wrong with it since then. I live in central america, so I've see Yugos plenty of times, and trust me, I wouldn't buy one ever, I much rather get a Hyundai Excel.

Re: Why no GVL?

I'll argue my Dad's 60's Simca was as bad as a Yugo.

My neighbor when I lived in Colorado Springs bought a Yugo to save on Gas. But he put so much oil in it it was cheaper for him to drive his Caddy. The oil poured out of that Yugo so much it actually, over time, ran into the street,.....now thats an oil leak!! I remember it was that ugly tan color popular in the mid to late 80's.

Probably worse, since you couldn't even get parts for them when they were sold here (at least when Yugo was around finding a dealer to fix it for you wasn't impossible).

He should've had it fixed. I know of lots of people who still use their Yugos daily, and have had no major problems with them (other than jokes). I blame Yugos quality control - the build quality of Yugos seems to vary wildly car to car, some are just built better than others, while others seem to have been assembled very poorly. The design itself isn't poor, or unreliable though.
