Re: Revell Integra Type R

don`t worry you frist 4 models will be like that, frist don`t use all the paint gloss. buy tape, new paint brush and use to paint the body spray or airbrush and you will see the change. always ask for help, here are good people that like to help

Better than my first model which was the same as yours. I didn't even bother painting it. LOL

Re: Revell Integra Type R

first of all, you may not want to use gloss black for everything.
in most cases, what you want is a semi-gloss (or they might call it satin) black.

secondly; slow down...

it isn't a race.
take a little time to take care of any mold lines, and sink marks, anything that shouldn't be there.
take a little time to mask areas before paint and do please have a look through some of the inspiring build threads because that's where the best tips are "hidden".

Re: Revell Integra Type R

I think the most useful advice given, as drunken monkey said, is to slow down. It seems you are rushing through everything in order to try and finish it as soon as you can. When you rush you miss details and it's details that help contribute to a realistic model. Slow down your painting and paint carefully, and you'll end up with cleaner lines.

What painting method do you use? From the looks of the hood, it's as if you're brush painting but other parts of the body seem like you spray painted it. Try to invest in a good quality primer and some high-grade wet & dry paper.

I like how the interior looks as though a can of gloss-black was left in the car on a hot day . Last photo looks good.

Re: Revell Integra Type R

Buy some IPA and also get lots of patience! The rest will come after it.
Try using different shades of aluminum and silver for the metallic parts, it will hep a lot.

the hood was repainted, but I think I applied too many layers.
I've been using X-1 for the interior and brush painting it in.
I used tamiya masking tape, but even after sealing the edges it still bleeds.

Try to burnish the edges with a tooth pick. I use this neon green masking tape that I got from an automotive paint place. It's meant for small jobs, so it stretches nice, and burnishes well with out getting "fuzzy" on the edges.

Re: Revell Integra Type R

another tip.

Buy some acrylic thinner for the little pots of Tamiya paint.
When hand brushing, I always thin the paint before using for the first time.
I also check the consistency of the paint before I use it again as well because well, thinner evaporates. I've never had a pot of paint that I could use straight from the pot without adding thinner.
