Caravan quit
My 2001 Dodge Caraavan (3.3 L) quit in traffic on my wife thoday....just sort of sputtered and quit. Had to have it towed...... when you turn the key it just rolls over and over but doesn't catch.
I suppose it COULD be a lot of things...... does it sound familiar to anyone? I had a car some years ago that acted like that and it turned out to be a plugged fuel filter..............I should be so lucky!!!!!. |

Re: Caravan quit
Could be lots of things, but first thing comes to mind is crank or cam sensor. Have codes read, but crank sensor won't always set one.

Re: Caravan quit
I believe that on the 01 you can still do the key dance to get codes, I have gotten codes on a 01 Intrepid this way> turn key on/off, on/off, on without starting engine within 5 seconds. Any codes should show in the odometer instead of mileage. Post any codes.
Have you checked all fuses and relays to make sure fuel pump is working? Like peterjon1 says it could be lots of things and cam and crank sensors are very possible, best if you change both at same time. |

There is a place in Florida that will sell that computer for $225, do a search on Ebay and you will find them, they are reconditioned and programmed for your vehicle, they will ask for the VIN number and the mileage. Oh, and they offer a lifetime warranty, I have ordered from them before, they program and ship quick. |
