Exclamation I have had enough!

OKay, to anyone that owns a Lumina Z34;... Give up now... they're ugly, expensive and the engine is a piece of crap! Trust me I loved my Lumina, but not anymore. I have moved on; I have bought an Eagle Talon TSI and I suggest EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!!!, go and do the same thing while it's not too late! Later you'll see me on the Eagle forums

Re: I have had enough!

You don't have to tell me twice. That DOHC engine was the worst engine GM ever came up with!!!

Re: I have had enough!

My son loved his DOHC 1990 Lumina until it developed the "Phantom stalling" problem. We replaced and cleaned almost every sensor on the motor until we discovered a website that told us the problem was the injectors. Installed a different set of injectors (even though ours tested good) and that fixed the problem. He got rid of it before the alternator went out of it. You are right, worst motor design made.

Re: I have had enough!

The alternator isn't bad to due once you drop the rear of the sub frame down!!

The injectors need to be ohm tested when they are hot. They will never test bad after they have cooled off. Thats why the car ran fine when cold and only stalled after it had warmed up. Its a race against the clock to gain access to them before they cool down. The injector problem was not limited to that engine.

Re: I have had enough!

I have the same prob. I have the module out now and
will put it back in after a lil more work. I just hope it
isn't the inj's though I have heard and read that the
Multec's get nasty pretty quick and to go with the
Bosch made inj's. Still 200 + is a lot of money for
this old ride I have. We'll see. I guess..

Re: I have had enough!

I'm grateful we have a 3.1 V-6. Our 93 Lumina has 250,000 miles & still running strong. Hoping for 300,000+ We need that many miles to get our money back we paid for it, $2.00. Best $2.00 we ever spent. We have put 30,000 miles on it already.
