84 Caprice - Electric Choke not opening
I have an 84 Caprice where the electric choke does not open. I recently turned the spring so the choke stay sully open. Car runs fine after warming up. Where is a good place to start checking. I recently put on a rebuilt carb.

Another thing to look at, would be that since it is a rebuilt carburetor, that the choke is properly adjusted. Sometimes it can be so far out that it seems like it's not working.

the electrical connector usually needs replacing...at the choke connection .. next is check that the choke pull off diapham is not leaking...if this leaks the pull off is also going to cause this issue..if the pull off is working correctly it should snap back quickly as soon as the engine is started... you may have multiple problems...... good luck |
