Changed battery, now dome light flashes and clicks

Well, my battery light was coming on so I checked the "meter" on my old battery and it said it was no good. So I went to Napa, bought a new battery and had it checked. After I installed it my dome light flashes for about 3 minutes everytime I start the car and if I shut the car off and take the key out within that time, it still flashes. Also, it's making a ticking noise almost identical to the directionals. No clue why it's doing this. Do I need to go to the dealer to have the computer reset or what?

Battery lights mostly come on due to bad alternators and not batteries. Did the new battery die yet?

I ran a scan for codes and nothing came up. New battery is still fine but the light still comes on at random.

The clicking noise you describe sounds like the lighting control module is the problem. They are not cheap. So you need to find out before replacement. ou might want to find someone that has a high end scan tool that can read the various modules on the car. Then you can be sure where the problem lies. These are usually found at the Dealer or a real good shop in your area. Ask around. Good luck.
