Door actuator left hot air

2000 buick lesabre limited with dual climate controls. had clicking noise from AC under dash which eventually disappeared. Now passenger side air is cool but driver's side is probably 15-20 degrees warmer. Could it be that left door actuator gear is broken? If so, when I looked up part, left and right actuators appear to be interchangeable. However, one supply site listed left actuator as $40 less than the right which would suggest a different part. Thanks.

Re: Door actuator left hot air

Sounds like the actuator, how about going to the source for the info, call a Buick dealer.

May I respectfully suggest some quality time spent watching the actuators and doors as you change the controls to determine if they are working or not. There is a failure rate for those.

But there also have been reports of warm driver's side and cold air conditioned air on the passenger side due to low freon charge. There is something about the freon flow through the evaporator that the air going to the driver comes from a portion of the coil that doesn't get cooled well if the freon charge has deteriorated. Yours is 8 years old. That's about the age when my 98 showed up with a low charge and didn't cool well. In your case you really need to have low and high pressures checked. But first check the movement on the actuators under the dash.
