Question 98 Yukon 5.7 help

I have a 98 yukon (4x4) 5.7. I have two problems with it right now. (1) when I pull off and come to a stop, it has a bump to it, it sounds like it is coming from the back of the truck. (2) when I turn the key to the run position, the fuel hand vibrates real bad back n forth, and the tank has a whine as well as a heavy vibation to it. you can feel it through the driver side seat. it even does it when the truck is running. please help if possible. thanks. if it is the rear end is there another truck i can take the parts from.

I just replaced my fuel pump, sounds like yours is dying. Expensive but necessary. Check into getting your fuel quantity sending unit replaced at the same time.

how much time do you have before they go out, from where it is now. I need it to hold up for 2 to 3 more weeks.

Re: 98 Yukon 5.7 help

mine has been doing the same thing with the needle jumping for the past year and i still haven't had to replace the filter although i did replace it about 2 years before it started jumping. I would lean more towards the fuel quantity sending unit.

Hard to say. I was lucky, mine didn't die on a long trip across the country, but I saw it happening a month or so beforehand.

It sounds like both the pump and sending unit are bad, since there's a strong whining.
