Installing new head unit

I've just got myself a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP, and I'm having troubles installing it.
I've got the Primera wiring harness and i would have thought i would plug that in to the back of the stereo, and then the other end into the wiring at the primera end.
But once that is done and i plug the battery back in there is no power to the head unit, and i can't understand why.

Hope someone can help me out

Thanks guys

Alex

I have the DEH-P6300, so I know kinda what you're dealing with.

I'm going to assume first that your stock HU was functioning properly. Now, you were able to connect the harness into the "honeycomb" connecting harness that was attached to the stock HU without any problems, I hope. All that you should need to do now is make sure you connect the proper wire colors on the HU with the corresponding wire colors on the Harness adapter. Make sure that you use butt-connectors or make the connection secure with electrical tape at the very least. Also make sure that any "unused" wires are taped over just for security purposes.

If you have any problems beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what else you can do. I had absolutely no problems doing just what I typed above.

Wow its been a while since I've been on here...

Anyway, if I remmeber correctly, when I installed a head unit in a G20, you have to screw the head unit completely in the slot, because that's how it grounds itself. another thing I can think of is a fuse went out somewhere. . but I would go with the first thing. If you got the head unit in the slot, and all the wires correct, than Im all outta ideas.
