98 Cavalier - Engine Cooling Sensor Location

Could someone direct me to where I might find the engine cooling sensor? I don't have a manual but think this is my problem with overheating. Thanx

Re: 98 Cavalier - Engine Cooling Sensor Location

if your 98 2.2 is the "2200" like mine, (which it most likely is) it can be found in the upper radiator hose/pipe, its in the metal pipe part. there should be a small hose going from your coolant resevior to that pipe, its right under that hose. right behind the alternator and right above your serpentine belt

Re: 98 Cavalier - Engine Cooling Sensor Location

Thank you and you are absolutely correct. I found it and changed it and now drive with my fingers crossed that it works. Other than this, I can only assume it's the head gasket and please, please, pray for me that it isn't.

You guys rock...thanx for all your responses. Happy Cavaliering
