Radio, blower motor stops working

Something new happened today on my 2005 Town and Country. While pulling up to a stop sign, my radio suddenly stopped working, along with the blower motor and the power window switch (driver's side, I did not check the pass. side switch). I got home and turned the key off, and the engine continued to run for 8-10 seconds before finally shutting off. I let it sit for a few minutes, then restarted it. Everything worked fine. I took off down the road and sure enough, it did it again a few blocks later, again when coming to a stop. It does not do it every time I stop, but I have noticed that when it does happen, I can tap the brake pedal and the power will come back. Once I got back home, I checked all of the electrical plugs underneath the dash near the brake pedal, but I have not driven it again to see if that helped. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Radio, blower motor stops working

Shooting from the hip I would suspect something in the accessory relay circuit or the Front Control Module, better known as the FCM. The FCM controls the grounds to the blower motor relays and to the accessory relay which paths power to the radio and power windows amongst many other things. Can't count out the Body Control Module (BCM) either. It is a player in amost everything electronic in the van.

I have read about corrosion problems found at the FCM connection on the Integrated Power Module (IPM). That's Chrysler lingo for the fuse box next to the battery. Usually it's been associated with lights problems but, still I would inspect that connection. The FCM is attached to the front of the IPM.

Next time it happens see what else doesn't work. Might help find the smoking gun.

Re: Radio, blower motor stops working

Well, it happened again today on the way to work, but this time the power never did come back, and the engine would not shut off at all until I pulled a few plug wires. Luckily it is under warranty, so it's headed to the shop now. I will post the results once I know something.
