Speeding! How are my guages? hehe...

I was on my way home from port charlette to tampa (2 hour drive) and 90% of the way I was going around 100 MPH - 115 MPH. Then after a little while there were NO cars at all on the interstate (I75 North) and I wanted to go faster... As its slowly picking up, the engine just either bogs or revvs down taking away about 10 MPH. I tried going faster and again the same... Im just currios as to if it is the govenor that is kicking in and limiting my speed... The picture is also kinda blurry because the steering wheel was very shaky at that speed so I couldnt keep the camera steady..

Dude read your manual. It tells you what your top speed is limited to. And I'll have to agree with Oz. Keep it on the track.

Unhappy

Hey I wasnt the only one going that speed... everyone else was going faster than me.. even an old 87 boxy mercedes benz zoomed me by alot and the other cars were acuras.and it was like 3 in the morning.. it was so empty its not even funny. And also, my damn car didnt come with a manual. For some reason the dealership included a 1991 Hyndai Excel Manual. I was like WTF? but I think ive heard people on this forum top out faster.. so it being auto matters?

im not going to be nice at all....
not only are you freakin dumb enough to do that speed on the highway(empty or not), you were also dumb enough to take a picture of your gauges at that speed. DID YOUR MOM DO DRUGS DURING YOUR BIRTH? if you want to top out your car, take it to the dyno or the track.

Yes, it must be your speed limiter. My 1993 Honda Civic ESi can't go past 190 kph (more or less the same speed as you have there), even if I have pumped the accelerator a few times to try and squeeze out a few more.

Ah, to live in a country where speed limits are practically almost non-existent. At least in some ways we're better off, hehe! Still, Germany's Autobahn is the ultimate. But I digress here....

Hhmm...didn't flame him. If he likes to drive fast, then that's his pleasure. But foremost is to obey traffic rules, which must be the point of those who reacted. My only question: how did he take a pic while driving at that speed?

It's his life if he kills himself, but you know it would be my good luck if I happen to cross the road seeing him plenty far down the road so I should have enough time, not realizing this idiot is flying at 100+mph. Then I would be dead.

Same thing happened in NY. Two guys were racing each other at 1am in the morning. A carvan full of people were just driving down the street, trying to get home after a church activity. One car hit the carvan at 150mph+. Everyone died. 2nd car tried to leave the scene and was caught the next day.

Just because there are NO cars on the road life is so random. Like you can predict when that tire carcass from a truck is going to be in your way, ever try swerving out of the way in a Civic at 100mph?

The only place that is safe to drive at speeds over highway is at the track. Then you are under the guidance of the track officials, there are paramedics waiting to assist you, you have corkscrews, uphill esses, back straighs which are 1mile or longer....

Here's me going through turn #2 or #3 at VIR at over 80mph

No, IT IS NOT JUST HIS LIFE. If this idiot loses control of his car while going at that speed because he's trying to take a digital picture of his dashboard to post on AF and crashes into my car (which incidently would be a rental because I don't live in the US, I would be unfamiliar with the roads and local custom on the roads) I WOULD DIE TOO. THAT IS WHAT WE HAVE RACETRACKS. I will not apologise or withdraw my earlier comment because it is entirely appropriate and deserved.
