I have a 2001 Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder. It started and ran fine everytime. It was sitting in storage for approx. 2 years. I charged the battery every few months and started it and let it run for 10-20 minutes every time. The battery finally died aboutr 3 months ago. I removed it and left the jeep sitting with no battery for those months. I installed a new battery and it wouls start and then shutoff? I removed the negative battery cable and let it sit over night. I reinstalled the negative battery cable and it starts and runs fine for one time only. If you shut the vehicle off, I goes back to starting up and shutting off? I ahve no security key of key fob, it is a plain wrangler. Any ideas????

Re: 2001 wrangler 4 cylinder, I need help!
Sat for 2 years, you now have varnish for fuel in your tank, drain the fuel tank and get some good gas, problem should be fixed.

Add to that, that the fuel system probably has some gunk in it also, so get a good fuel system cleaner to add to the new fuel.
