caravan mileage stored in gauge?

i need a new gauge cluster for my 96 / 97caravan if i put in a new gauge cluster in will the milage stay the same as it was or will it change to the milage on the gauge? and im talking about the gauges with the digital readouts for the mileage. if it does is there a way to change it to the same milage or do i need to fin a gauge with the aprox mileage?

If I'm not mistaken the mileage is stored in the VCM (Vehicle Control Module). Wen you order a new VCM your asked for the part number of the original VCM, the VIN number and the Mileage. In your case you should be all set.

Right thought. Wrong acronym. It's the Body Control Module or BCM.
