Auto World Adamowicz/Koveleski McLaren M8B
Well, figured I'd post something I started today as an aside to my slot car racing (I'll be running the regional ISRA circuit as well as the new Ohio Challenge Cup, plus my weekly stuff, so I'm a bit swamped, lol) but I wanted to work on something with some marbles, so I dusted off this kit.
![]() Complete with its impressive instruction book... ![]() With a kit this complex (and it is) I'm actually following the instructions to the letter. Fortunately, the fit and finish is pretty good (my kingdom for some quality superglue, though, for all the vinyl lines). Here's the monstrous big block, as it sits after Step 1. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Auto World Adamowicz/Koveleski McLaren M8B
I look forward to this build. I have the Lothar Motschenbacher car in my pile, and from what I've read regarding getting the body panels to fit with full engine detail, this looks a bit intimidating. I pulled a build note from my references folder which indicates that the sequence in the instructions is also a problem.
Having said that, this is a great car from a great era. Apparently this was the most direct way of strapping a V8 to a drivers back! I saw a M8D at a recent historic racing event. David Piper was here with his Porsche 917, getting loads of power down. The McLaren could barely get past second gear - too much power and too little track! A suprisingly big car, and magnificent in black. ![]()

Re: Auto World Adamowicz/Koveleski McLaren M8B
I ever heard good things about this kit (and the Corvette) and only few month ago I purchased one: awesome, it show an exceptional care, done by passion.
I'll follow.

I've also got one of these in my stash and it scares me more than an Enthusiast Porsche 911 kit.

You must be an Ohio boy! Go Buckeyes! I'm up here just west of Cleveland. supermods are awesome. I only live a few minutes from Lorain Speedway where the supers frequent. Been to Sandusky numerous times. Good luck on your build. I'll post a link as soon as I finish my current project. may be a while though, works got me traveling right now.

I want to see how you get the headers on...........
I have this kit, and have stalled at the place that you are at now. It has been in my stash for 3 years waiting for me to figure out how to get the D*&MN headers installed.
