2003 L200 won't start and stuck in park

First it appeared as a dead battery. Keyless entry wouldn't work and it wouldn't crank. After placing a jumper on it, it would crank, and even start, but would die after just a couple of seconds. I noticed that the interior lights and dash weren't behaving properly, even with the jumper on the battery. Specifically the gas gauge wouldn' register any gas. Since I wasn't sure whether we'd been siphoned or not, I put gas in it and it started and idled fine but then I couldn't get it out of park. And since then it'll just start for a couple of seconds then die. It's my belief there's an electrical problem. I checked as many fuses as possible (couldn't get the big one's out). I wiggled the wiring harness and this caused some oddball things to happen elecronically (ie. window motors on off, locks, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if there is some sort of lock out feature in this car...ie, when there's a serious electrical problem, does the car "park" itself?

sounds to me like the theft system is enabled. Needs to be hooked up to a scanner to diagnose.

pull off your batt terminals wirebrush clean, also the smaller wire on positive term goes to underhood fuse relay box make sure its not loose. good luck could be anti theft like suggested because you say drops out after a few seconds I miss that in you op sorry

I reread your op if I am reading correctly when you say started when you jumped (are you adding another batt meaning jump started??) If thats the case when you removed other batt it died ?? if thats the case you need to check your batt and charging system. Am I understanding now your first post or am I off the wall!! LET ME KNOW (I ALSO SEE THIS IS OLD POST%#$@)
