tranny problem

i have a 98 C1500 with a 4.3 the truck drives great but it's got no 3rd and 4th gear. if i keep the truck in 2nd gear i can take it up to 100kpm, but if i put it in to OD, it rev's out at about 60. is there some way to do a CHEAP fix to get all the gears working until i can get it rebuild.

In my area the transmission shops can and usually do a diagnostic for free or a small fee , this testing will give you a more accurate estimate as to the extent of repairs required...

the mileage, history of vehicle use, and condition of vehicle is a factor I would use as to , the repair or get another scrap yard transmission..

4.3 L engine lacks the proper power to use the truck as a work vehicle, this lack of power causes the transmission to run hotter...the use of an external trans cooler is a must do modification..
