240SX engine swap, need help fast!
I need help as soon as possible i am anxious to do this swap.
I am going to order a red top SR20DET engine from srswap.com. for my 89 240SX fastback. I need to know if this engine will pass emissions. Also what is the average cost of doing this swap. One last thing does anyone know of a place that is reliable for this sort of thing, I live in the New York area. I heard there is a good place on hicksville ave. but i dont really remember. The plan ------- 1. Swap to SR20DET 2. Upgrade for bigger turbo to 18psi to 20psi 3. Front mount intercooler 4. Electronic Boost controller 5. custom exhaust, 3 1/2 pipes, no muffler 6. Intake of course k&n or short ram what ever fits with turbo 7. JWT ecu 8. Maybe nos, i want to have 400hp so what ever i dont accomplish with other mods will be filled with NOS to get up to 400hp probally 75shot Im pretty sure i will have to upgrade the fuel system but not sure how, any help on that is greatly appreciated. I will spend up to 10K on it, not cut corners on anything. I have been waiting years to do this and the time has come. I am not going to "waste" money on fancy body kits, maybe a carbon fiber hood or rims but thats it just to lighten it. I have grown to liking the PDM body kit but i will only get it if i spend less then 10K. Thanks for your help and again it is completly appreciated. -------- I just cought that i put RB instead of SR, i had skylines on the brain, its all fixed now. --------

at 400hp your going to want to upgrade the internals as well. they are said to be good up to around 450 hp on the sr but I doubt that they will last that long. sooner or later you will probably bend a rod

I think your right there about the upgrading stock internals. It shall be done. I didnt neccisarilly post what i wanted to do in order but turbo timer should definitly be added on there. I will get the front mount intercooler first before the boost controller. OH MAN i cant wait, my insides tingle when i think about the car when im done. The phrase "muffler sex" comes to mind....J/K.... I cought my friends older brother doing that to his bmw M3, I can safley say im mentally scared for life. Thanks for the Help, please continue to post more stuff i need help.

how bout' a jun stroker kit? how much is that? if i had 10g's i'd buy then engine then buy the stroker kit just so you don't have to pull the engine out after the swap. personally if i had 10g's usd to spend on an sr20det i would buy then engine then a stroker kit and then all the electronics to finish the job t timer boost controller.
