97 mustang cooling fan
HI,
Does anyone know why the electric cooling fan in my 97 mustang GT keeps running after the car is off?? I had to disconnect it after 20 minutes. Thanks, Steve |

Re: 97 mustang cooling fan
Look around the strut tower in the engine compartment. If you or a friend has a Ford or Mercury try swapping the relay before buying one. I've had them hang up more on Ford fuel pumps and Dodge ASD relays. As their made the same its a good possibility.

Re: 97 mustang cooling fan
Should be located in the power distro/fuse box in the engine compartment. The lid covering the box should be marked as to exact location of the cooling fan relay within the box. Yes, it does sound like it's sticking on.

Re: 97 mustang cooling fan
The fan is supposed to run after shut off if the temp is beyond normal range. If it runs too long it could be the temperature sending unit for the PCM.
