2003 Grand Am Horn Problems
My girlfriend is having trouble with the horn on her car. When you lock the car with the keyfob the lights blink and when you push the panic button the lights blink as well. When I put the fuse in the horn goes off and doesn't stop. My first thought was the relay. I replaced it with another relay, they looked all the same so I just popped it out and put another in. The same problem happened when I put the fuse back in. I don't have the resources to check if the horns are good. Does anyone know what I can do?
Thanks, Mooney |

Re: 2003 Grand Am Horn Problems
If the horn is on steady than my guess is that the problem is in the steering colum or the steering wheel. Since the wire that runs to the switches gets grounded by the switches to activate the horn thansomething is causing it to be grounded all the time.

Re: 2003 Grand Am Horn Problems
Thanks. I was hoping that wouldn't be it but I don't see anything else that would be wrong. Is there an easy way to remove the steering wheel as to not mess up the air bag? I don't have a hayne's manual for this car.

i would jump into the steering column just yet!!!sounds like the system is working properly.if you are hitting the panic button it should activate the horn.what happens when you turn the alarm off.what type of alarm factory/after market??it may be a ground as stated above but make sure alarm is deactivated.what fuse is removed that makes the horn sound when you install it courtesy or alarm??
