99 Alero Trans Help Please!!!!
Hi, I have a 99 Alero with 105k. just recently the trans appears to be slipping although it just happened out of nowhere. I bought the car used a couple months ago, since then i have replaced alternator, belts, battery, spark plugs and wires and now this issue. The car tends to "slip" after it has been driving for a short while and it does it in all gears. Im hoping there may be something other then the trans causing this. please any suggestions?!?

Re: 99 Alero Trans Help Please!!!!
You thread has been moved to a more suitable section, this is the Performance section not R&R.
Get your fluid level checked on the trans. If thats ok I'd get the trans fluid & filter changed and see if that helps.

Also, i neglecting to inform you that my gas gauge is always reading full. therefore it does not work properly. i dont know if this would have anything to do with the cause but i figure its worth mentioning.

Re: 99 Alero Trans Help Please!!!!
Slipping more when its hot is usualy how it goes.
Things get loose the hotter it gets, could be the clutches/bands are out of adjustment or just worn out. It could be something else, hard to say with out a proper diagnosis and a good scan. But it doesnt sound good! ![]() And your gas guage is typical , your tank float is bad and would need replaced to fix. It is inside the gas tank in the fuel module, I forget what it cost by its self(without replacing the whole module for $300+) not to expensive though. Good Luck
