whinning sound while accelerating!!!!!!!

hi i have a 1995 base auto trans 3k, onli mod is a injen intake...anywaz my problem is whenever i start to accelerate i hear some kind of whinning sound under my hood!!!!!!!!!, its not that loud but if u listen carefully i never had this problem before, when i let go of the gas lightly then i hear like rattling sounds but it isnt that loud...do u think its the transmission...i got my tranny rebuilt like 1 year ago, sometimes my car would lag when i step on the gas but it hasn't died down on me yet and sometimes when i put the gas kinda hard from a stop i began to see smoke coming out from my exhaust (the smoke smells like gas) this also goes when i put it on reverse then the smoke would go away...shifting is ok...do you guys think the engine is about do die thats why i get that whinning sound, the timing belt prolly, all i kno its coming from the passenger side but iono i hope its not the tranny, i have to admit ive been driving my car hard ever since the rebuilt, but shifting is good and firm no slipping, so far i have 149,xxx

Ok seriously, sentances, punctuation and capitalization is your friend. I refuse to read that until it doesnt make me lose IQ points doing so.

Re: whinning sound while accelerating!!!!!!!

I have 8 minutes until work. Proof-reading go!

Hi, I have a 1995 base auto trans 3000GT, and the only mod is an Injen intake. Anyways, my problem is that whenever I start to accelerate, I hear some kind of whining sound under my hood! It's not that loud, only if you listen carefully. I never had this problem before. When I let go of the gas lightly, I hear rattling sounds but it isn't that loud. Do you think it's the transmission? I got my tranny rebuilt 1 year ago. Sometimes my car would lag when I step on the gas, but it hasn't died on me yet. Sometimes when I accelerate kinda hard from a stop, I begin to see smoke coming out from my exhaust (the smoke smells like gas). This also occurs when I put it in reverse, but then the smoke goes away. It shifts fine. Do you guys think the engine is about to die? Is that why I get that whining sound (I'm thinking it's the timing belt)? All I know is that it's coming from the passenger side, but I don't know much else. I hope its not the tranny because, I have to admit, I've been driving my car hard ever since the rebuild. But shifting is good and firm, with no slipping. So far my car has 149,xxx.

There. It took me less than 10 minutes to fix that gibberish. Save me time. Learn how to type.

Re: whinning sound while accelerating!!!!!!!

Thanks Morph

To the OP, it very well sounds like your diff or something is whining. These trans, especially the auto are not meant to take abuse.

The smoking is most likely from valve stem seals leaking.

Re: whinning sound while accelerating!!!!!!!

I have the same problem when I go WOT in my Redline....wait, maybe thats the supercharger!

Sorry, I had to...

But for real, I had a whining noise on my auto stealth for about 3-4 months before my tranny went out. It started out just whining when it was cold, like right after I started it. Then slowly it would whine for longer, until it whined pretty much every time I accelerated unless I had been driving for a really long time. It shifted fine during all of this until one day I left a friends house and it stayed in 1st for quite a while, then slammed into 2nd. After that it went straight into limp mode until I started the car again. Then straight into limp mode after about a minute (meaning I would drive around in 3rd gear only). I had to replace the transmission when that happened. I hope this isnt whats happening to you, good luck man.

whinning sound while accelerating part 2!!!!!

sorry about not fixing up my grammar. but honestly, do you guys think it's the transmission acting up? i don't want to spend a lot of money again, i mean come on i spent nearly $1,400 and it's my 2nd rebuilt. It is beginning to piss me off. i have to admit i do abuse my car. the sound is like i have a supercharger now. should i ignore and continue my driving or should i get it checked out ASAP, i did call the transmission shop that did my rebuilt and he said take it in tomorrow so he could test drive it, what do you guys think? is it possible to get a rebuilt again? the shifting is ok, and about the valve stem leak is that a cheap fix? thanks in advance.
