code p1870 manfacurer contrl transmission

i have a 98 grand am 3.1 v6 150 k this code is coming up and it wont pass inspection in my state less i get rid of it can i do a trans flus or what do i need to do to fix this plz help

First,do not get your transmission flushed and the best thing to do is change the fluid and filter only.The pan gasket is reusable and do not throw it away.The filter is full of dirt and other crap.Do you want dirt,metal shavings and clutch material in the valve body?This is true with a flush,the dirt,metal shavings and clutch material gets back flushed into the valve body.I know a transmission shop in my area that does lots of valve body cleanings and rebuilds due to flushes with the machine.

y not throw away the pan gasket i thaught that a new filter comes with new gasket for the filter and pan i y keep the old one and that still does not answer about the code do you think the fluid is it cause the previous owner did a drain and a filter change hell i can telll its clean and smells clean .

I have seen this code a few times,transmission componet slipping.Most scan tools you can get any data stream out of the transmission
