Unhappy 2000 Explorer XLS Horn?

Greetings,

I have the subject vechicle. The horn relay clicks when the steering wheel pad is pushed, however, the horn doesn't blow. Where is the horn located. I presume the horn is bad. Anything else I should look at?

Thanks for your help!

Do a search on the forum for the keyword "Horn." Your 2000 should be the same as 1996-2001.

I have a 2000 xls also and although my horn works it is sticky and is hard to push down. Maybe it has some quirks? What do you think?

The horn pad is hard to push down enough activate the horn? I don't know what to tell you on that one. Any chance your Explorer had been wrecked previously and an aftermaket airbag (if there is such a thing) installed?

The horn itself is not hard to push down. I can not explain it right. It is almost like the horn is not right in the middle but maybe off to one side.
