Greetings,
I have the subject vechicle. The horn relay clicks when the steering wheel pad is pushed, however, the horn doesn't blow. Where is the horn located. I presume the horn is bad. Anything else I should look at? Thanks for your help!

Re: 2000 Explorer XLS Horn?
Do a search on the forum for the keyword "Horn." Your 2000 should be the same as 1996-2001.

I have a 2000 xls also and although my horn works it is sticky and is hard to push down. Maybe it has some quirks? What do you think?

Re: 2000 Explorer XLS Horn?
The horn pad is hard to push down enough activate the horn? I don't know what to tell you on that one. Any chance your Explorer had been wrecked previously and an aftermaket airbag (if there is such a thing) installed?

The horn itself is not hard to push down. I can not explain it right. It is almost like the horn is not right in the middle but maybe off to one side.
