Spare Tire Prob

My co-worker has an '01 Durango and had some trouble getting the spare tire down. Now it won't go back up. Anyone know of anything that I should look for? I haven't taken a peek at it yet, I will be this weekend, but if anyone knows any probs I should look for it would help. I'll be looking at it while replacing the LF window reg/motor.

Any help would be great.

Cable reel is shot. Not sure if you can rebuild it, or if you have to replace it. Probably a dealer or junk yard item.
