Problems with my 2000 tracker...2 litre

Hi to all! Hope everyones summer had something good to offer.

History:

I bought my 2000 tracker a couple of months ago.

190,000 km now on it.

4 door hard top with air 4 x 4.

Front tires were worn on the inside only.

note: As explained below I had allignment done first to remedy wondering on the highway. Steering is fine. Then front worn tires put onto back..good back tires up to the fronts. Then front tires only had wheel balance.

Problems:

1. Coolant smell coming in car really bad. No matter vents open or closed.

no film on front window though and no damp carpets.

2. brakes vibrate when applied.

3. Car wandering at highway speeds

4. Cars frontend hops when hitting speeds of 80 km and over.

Suggestions given so far to remedy problems:

1. Change water pump as it appears wet underneath. If persists...definetly look at the heater core.

Note: I was told I have to discharge the a/c system to get the heater out. Any knowledge on this?

2. Replace rotors and front pads.

3. Already did an allignment..balanced front tires only...

4. For frontend hopping mechanic now suggests shocks...sounds fishy and they are just experimenting.

Love the site...hope this problem already hasn't been posted.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

sounds like you could be having issues with your ball joints, also the coolant smell sounds like a heater core problem and yes you have to evacuate the ac system the job actually calls for about six hours. as far as vibration when you stop check into warped rotors! any other issues feel free to contact me.
