2004 Colorado O2 sensor test

Recently the gas mileage on my 04 Colorado has reduced seriously. Now i know a number of things could cause this but recently my resonator blew up and flew through my exhaust so i'm thinking my O2 sensor may have been damaged. Does anyone know of any methods of testing? any help would be amazing.

Re: 2004 Colorado O2 sensor test

Usually the resonator is just before or just after the muffler, so you should get any shrapnel in your O2 sensor from that. However, the exploded resonator may cause a blockage in the muffler or tailpipe that would cause too much backpressure and therefore hurt performance. The best way to chaeck O2 sensors is with a graphhing capable scanner or at least a scanner you can see real-time data.
