from 2X4 to 4X4

I have a 98 C1500 with a 4.3 vortec. The thing is, I want to put a solid front axle from a early 80's chevy, but I,m not sure if I can do it, and what do I have to do, I have the trans and a transfer case from a 92 K1500, can it be done

Not very easy and could cost more than the truck is worth.
